September 4, 2007 It's been announced that the Joe Jedi FX saber kits are still going to be produced! As of right now they are going to be exclusive to Radio Shack but my sources say that Authorized Dealers may carry them as well. Right now it looks to be lit by a Tri Color LED that can change from Red to Blue to Green. Pieces appear to make a Vader, Obi-Wan and Luke, or any combination thereof. For more information check out:

By now you probably know what a Force FX Lightsaber is, but do you know as much as you think you do? Do you know the history? What about the different versions of the sabers? Then of course there are the upgrades that have happened over the years.
But maybe you've never heard of an FX lightsaber. Maybe your son (or daughter) asked you buy one for their birthday and you find yourself asking, "What heck are Force FX Lightsabers?!" The simple answer is that they are the coolest prop replicas ever made. Since you were a little kid and first saw Star Wars, you've probably wanted a real lightsaber. These are about as close as you can get to owning the real thing.
One day, long, long ago, Master Replicas decided to make something all Star Wars fanatics would want. Something so cool, so unique and so badass that you just couldn't say no to it. That decision gave birth to the modern day Force FX Lightsaber, an interactive Prop Replica that lights up and reproduces realistic sounds all authorized by Lucasfilm®!
They started out with simple EL tube, polycarbonate blades powered by a 6 AA battery power source. Since then the FX Lightsabers have been improved to use sequential LED strings and only require 3 AA batteries. the sound effects on the new FX Lightsaber models have been made louder and more clear as well.
